Gifts delivered in Wilmington and the towns around it

We are a flower shop with a gift shop inside it. Everything on this page sits on a shelf at 52 Main Street, which means we can see it, wrap it and get it to a door the same day if you order by 1 PM. If you are stuck, call 978-988-0044 and describe the person you are shopping for. That works better than a filter.

Used up, or kept

Consumables are the safe choice for someone you do not know well. A candle gets burned and nobody has to find a place for it. Keepsakes are for people whose house you have actually been inside.

02

Check the day

We are closed Sunday. Order by 1 PM for same day on any day we are open. Anything later goes out the next morning we are in.

Say if it needs flowers

A gift and an arrangement can go on the same delivery. Tell us when you order so the designer builds them to arrive together.

A wrapped bunch of cut flowers means the host stops hosting and goes hunting for a vase in the middle of saying hello. If you want to bring flowers, bring them already in one.

Can I get a gift delivered today?

Yes, if the order is in by 1 PM on a day we are open. We are open Monday through Friday from 9 to 3 and Saturday from 9 to 1, and we are closed Sunday. Orders after the cutoff go out the next morning we are in.

If today is already gone, pickup is the fastest thing that exists. Order online or call, and it is usually ready in about an hour at 52 Main Street.

What should I bring the first time I meet my partner's parents?

Bring something that does not create a job. This is the mistake almost everyone makes: you hand over a wrapped bunch of cut flowers, and now the person hosting has to leave the room, dig out a vase, cut stems and fill it with water while you stand in the hallway being introduced to a dog.

So either bring it already arranged in a vase, which we will do for you, or skip cut flowers and bring a plant, a box of chocolates or a candle.

One more thing on candles. Keep the scent light or unscented if you are arriving at dinner. You do not know what is in the oven, and a strong fragrance sitting next to the food is a bad first impression that nobody will ever tell you about.

What do you get someone who already has everything?

Something that disappears. The problem with a person who has everything is not taste, it is shelf space. Another object is a burden. Something they use up is not.

That means chocolates and specialty food, a candle, or bath and body. All three get finished and remembered, and none of them ask the person to find a spot.

If you want to go the other way and give something that lasts, preserved flowers hold for months without water or light management, which is the one keepsake that does not become clutter.

What is a good housewarming or new neighbor gift?

Remember what the house actually looks like right now. There are boxes everywhere, half the lamps are not plugged in, and nobody knows where the scissors went. A gift that needs attention this week is a gift that dies.

A plant that tolerates being forgotten for a few days is the right call, or something for the kitchen they have not unpacked yet from kitchen items and home decor. Our housewarming picks pull from both.

If they are new to town rather than new to the house, the Wilmington shelf is the one that actually says welcome, because it is made here and they cannot order it from anywhere else.

What do you send a coworker you do not know well?

Neutral, shared and unscented. Three rules keep you out of trouble at an office.

No romance signals. Red roses to a desk get read a specific way whether you meant it or not. No strong fragrance, because an office shares air and the person two desks over gets a vote they did not ask for. And nothing that needs a vase, because the nearest sink is in a break room and it will be dry by Thursday.

That leaves chocolates, which have the useful property of being shareable with the whole team, or something small for the desk from kitchen items. A low plant also works and outlives the gesture.

What do you give someone whose pet just died?

Send something. That is the whole answer. People are often flattened by this and will not say so out loud, because they have learned that some people treat it as a smaller loss than it is. Almost nobody sends anything, which is exactly why anything at all lands hard.

We keep a pet sympathy shelf for this, which most flower shops do not. Keep the card short. You do not need to say anything clever about where the dog is now.

Do you have gifts for kids?

Yes. Stuffed animals and a kids shelf, and both pair well with a birthday arrangement for the parent if you are covering a whole household in one delivery.

For a new baby, the stuffed animal is the part the kid keeps and the flowers are the part the mother actually gets to enjoy. Sending both is not overkill, it is two different recipients.

Can a gift and flowers arrive in the same delivery?

Yes. Add both to the order and tell us in the notes that they go together, or call and we will set it up. The designer builds them as one delivery so the driver is not making two trips and the recipient is not answering the door twice.

If you would rather have it all in one package, gift baskets are built that way already. And if you cannot decide, designer's choice works for gifts too: give us the budget and the occasion and we will put it together from what is on the shelf.
